The Music of the Clark Terry/Bob Brookmeyer Quintet

In the mid 60's, the Clark Terry/Bob Brookmeyer Quintet recorded three highly-acclaimed records featuring Clark's virtuosic, exuberant flugelhorn and trumpet playing and Bob's compositional approach on the valve trombone, anchored by a strong rhythm section and unique compositions. Wishing to bring this body of music to greater public awareness, alto valve trombonist Scott Reeves transcribed much of this music and will be joined by trumpeter Freddie Hendrix, pianist David Janeway, drummer Eliot Zigmund (formerly with Bill Evans), and Bill Crow - the bassist on 2 of the original recordings and still swinging hard at age 95! Don't miss this unique event: Saturday, Feb. 4, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m. at Maureen's Jazz Cellar, 2. N. Broadway in Nyack, NY. reservations - (845) 535-3143
