This record features my quintet, which consists of Russ Spiegel (Guitar), Mike Holober (Piano), Howard Britz (Bass), and Andy Watson (Drums). Originally a live concert performed at City College of New York in 2005, the night had a palpable chemistry and magic, but for a variety of reasons it was never released publicly.

During the 2020 pandemic, I gave the recording another listen, and was excited at the energy, musicianship, and innovation of the band. Experimentation with electronic enhancements and keyboards helped us find a balance between the warmth of traditional jazz and the edginess of more experimental styles.

Join me in discovering these previously unheard recordings.

Without a Trace - Scott Reeves Jazz Orchestra
$11.99

"Without a Trace" is the second recording on Origin Records by the Scott Reeves Jazz Orchestra. It features outstanding New York musicians such as saxophonists Steve Wilson and Tim Armacost, pianist Jim Ridl and vocalist Carolyn Leonhart. Scott's music carves out a new approach to big band writing by combining a contemporary harmonic palette and non-traditional forms with infectious, swinging grooves and great soloing by world-class jazz musicians.
